One of the most common questions we receive at Athletes Gel is, "why shouldn’t I just take a pain pill?" That’s a great question.
The reason why we decided to bring Athletes Gel to market is to avoid pills for as long as possible.
So, let’s talk about the difference…. (We will leave the opioids out of this, as they are reserved for incredibly severe pain and should be rigorously monitored by highly-qualified medical professionals!) That leaves us with routinely-used, over-the-counter pain relievers such as ibuprofen and acetaminophen. Don’t get me wrong… these products have been around forever and are certainly useful.
However, the use of non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs, or NSAIDs (such as ibuprofen), have been associated with increased risk of stomach upset and raised risk of cardiovascular side effects (This has been extensively published in the New England Journal of Medicine and the Journal of the American Medical Association.) Email or call me to talk more about this!
In addition, we are all getting more and more conscientious about what we put in our bodies. Why use a product that has to be metabolized by the liver and excreted through the kidneys when a simple, but elegant, topical, all-natural pain reliever works perfectly fine?
Athletes Gel works locally, at the site of application, to relieve pain and treat inflammation associated with muscle/joint/tendon/ligament stress. The goal with Athletes Gel is to avoid unwanted, body-wide side effects while effectively treating pain… and none of us like to be in pain!
There is a reason that the Center for Disease Control recommends topical pain relievers first – they don’t want us in pain and certainly don’t want us to put anything un-natural in our bodies if we don’t have to.
As always, the Athletes Gel Team is here to answer any questions or to help in any way. Let us know what we can do better at CS@hammockconsumer.com.
